This is counted as a fair use protected backup copy.
The only legal case of having ROMs is if you dumped them yourself from a game you own. There is no flipping way that that is the case. I was wondering where all those 3D shots of Chrono came from. Unfortunately, I have no idea if the website I saw mentioning this is trustworthy. IIRC, roms are never ever legal, except supposedly in the case of GBA, where Nintendo made a blunder and said that they used ROMs for developing the games.Ī loophole in the law meant that this statement made all GBA roms legal. QUOTE (Align Feb 19 2005, 06:08 AM) QUOTE (Cold NiTe Feb 19 2005, 08:37 AM) I own the game but the system doesn't work anymore. As long as SE gets credit for the story and gameplay I don't see the harm in a 3rd party remake for a game every now and then, as long as the original developers are happy with the quality. They could still contractually purchase the finished product as a tradeoff for the intelectual rights. SE can't hire those who are already hired.
Chrono trigger 3d fan remake professional#
Supposedly SE was/is already working on their own remake of Chrono Trigger.Īnd if I'm not mistaken, the CTR team was made up of people who are already professional game developers. SE could have made a lot of money off of this I know for a fact (read the CTR forums) that people would be willing to buy CTR. if they were smart enought, they could have sponsored the team.
